Over what period are sugar levels important , is it by the minute, hour, day, week, etc. ?

Can you have a bad morning, a good afternoon and be OK by evening, or does it take longer ?

I appreciate the answers can be influenced by degrees of over/under, etc, but I am just looking for a general guide.

Damage will be done if your BG levels are above the specified/recommended levels (the actual number varies depending on who you ask) for extended periods.

My answer to your Q would be hourly.

Well they are going to be important for the rest of your days..
Best kept low and with as few spikes as possible. So you want to aim to be stable and lowish.

Now as to what constitutes "low" that's a whole other question..

For me they're important all the time - although I don't test every minute i can't afford lol

The numbers are backed up by research.

Thanks for the advice and the article was interesting (well, the bits I understood) .
It will certainly help me with the suggested self testing routine, which I intend to start next week.
