Morning strangeness

Hi

I've recently gotten enough test strips to be able to test my blood sugar as much as i'd like.

When i wake up, it's between 5 and 8.

I have a decaff coffee with sweetener, i never eat early in the morning.

My blood sugar rises by at least 4 points in an hour / 90 mins or so.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to research?

Look up Dawn Phenomenon- in the absence of food your liver will give you a glucose boost to get going in the morning, personally I find it best to eat something in the morning and take a bolus to keep it in check.
