Morrisons

it probably is to hide them from me - I mean, four members of staff have asked if I have an addiction problem ;)

Sue Lidl has Macadamia nuts as a regular thing. In a tin. they have gone up a bit in price though.

Oh wiflib!! Were you a bloodhound in a former life then? Jem - you are an addict!!!! No doubt!
Gonna see if I can get some more of them tonight. Julian Graves had bags of them 300g/400g - I think - for about £4. Is that good? They said that was their small bag!!
Went into holland and Barrett and they have some fruit/nut mixes half price at the moment. Since tasting macadamia nuts for the first time I've been turned into a nut fan!! You're fault Jem. Suppose it's better than other vices?! :!:

Sorry Gilly!

Can I convince you to switch to decaff coffee and make up for the lack of caffeine by adding humungous portions of extra thick single cream?

teeheee ... Am I really and evil-leader-astray-er ... ???

ENJOY!

Oh and yeah, the Julian GRaves bags are a pretty good price BUT be warned - if you buy a big bag, you may just EAT a big bag ;)

I stick to the 60grammes salted macanuts from Sainsburys (as does GRaham, I think) and make one bag a day my absolutel upper limit!

Sorry Jem but won't be switching to decaff coffee. Never found any that I liked the taste of. All that cream would make me barf I'm afraid. Like it on fruit, puddings etc especially at xmas but don't buy it very often rest of the year. The squirty crea is nice especially when someone miffs you and they're standing right next to you...get the picture?!
Yep - definately and evil-leader-astray-er!! Fun though, isn't it?
I try and male one bag all day too though soemtimes it's a struggle. Birmingham, near here, has a huge market and one stall sells just nuts and fruit mixes!! Heaven! 8)

oooooooh a fruit and nut stall!

heaven!

since choosing the low-carb route my apetite has been hugely suppressed so sometimes I find that a bag of macadamia nuts (I have normal to marginally low blood pressure so I find the salt isn't a massive problem right now) is a good (infrequent and I must stress: occasonal) mini-meal replacement (with a 40gramme bar of 85% chocolate ;) moi? healthy!!!!)

as to decaff, the only good tasting one I found and raved about turned out to be not decaff ~ just my bad concentration skills - it was organic fair trade with a nice green label and I wrongly assumed it was decaff and merrily drank my way through almost the whole pot until my mum pointed out that in fact it wasn't decaff and maybe that's why my insomnia had returned (being as I was quite happily having a cream heavy two spooner at midnight during the last part of my work shift ;) to warm me up hahaha not so much) - hence the cream helps disguise the flavour, or lack thereof!

PS eating macadamia RIGHT NOW!

teeheee :)

You are right Jem I buy mine from Sainsburys were there's always an abundant supply, lucky for me they are out of your reach so always plenty available.

Another Nutter

I bought a tin of macadamia nuts in Lidl's. The fact that they were salted (yuck) was hidden by the way the tin was made.

I washed the salt off.

Air traffic control have put ban on broomstick flying within a 50 mile radius of my local Sainsburys.

Ahhhh but I always have the knack of flying under the radar Graham ;) ... never fear - where there is a stash of macanuts, there is a Jem ... or something ... blah!

and yet still - here I stand - unafraid and unharmed ...

as the late great Freddie MErcury once said ~ it's a kind of magic ...

Hmmm Gilly, You are leading me astray now, I shall have to take my teenager over to Birmingham for a shopping trip before Christmas. He can go to Borders/HMV/Forbidden Planet and I can go to the big market and stock up on those bags of nuts tee hee! Thanks for the idea! (rubbing hands with glee!)

Bubsy :D
