This is my son Marios.

He is the main reason that I know that my life is not all about diabetes.

Marios is six and just started school this September. I want to be there when he graduates University.

Marios now things all girls are silly cry babies. I want to be there when he has his heart broken for the first time. I want to be there when he finds the right one, gets married, has his first child.

And I want to be there standing on my own two feet, seeing things with my own two eyes and feeling things with my own strong beating heart.

This is my son Marios. He is the main reason that I do not forget that diabetes is part of my life.

Our children and our future are the best reason in the world to get control of our diabetes. That is the best motivation in the world.

Pavlos, don't you make me cry again you bad lad. No wonder you are so proud of your handsome son, may he be as blessed with good health as he has been blessed with loving parents :D :D :D

I'm certain that you will do all that Pavlos - no problem whatsoever!

.....and be there to see and do all the same things with his children - i.e. your grandchildren!

I keep telling my thirteen-year-old grandson that I have had some great mates over the years - but he's the best I've ever had! He's sports mad just like me. We go everywhere together - cricket, football, ice hockey, rugby, basketball etc.

Moreover, I want to be there when he plays cricket for England! :D

Best wishes - John

Ps "success" means achieving their best.

I really like your definition of success.

Success should be measured in respect of one's own potential and the degree to which this is fulfilled.

I honestly envy all who can look back and genuinely feel that they did their best in whatever field they chose to apply themselves.

Regards

Pavlos
