I’ve noticed the same thing where after a good loss my weight starts to creep back up. Often it’s just normal ups and downs. You could try mixing up your meals (more veggies, maybe a bit less carbs) or squeezing in a short walk a few times a week.
Hi there Africanaussie.
I take it you mean green leafy veggies? As veggies are largely carbs. Potatoes, pumpkin, and so on are definitely veggies, just carby ones, especially potatoes.
This is my own take on the subject: I've been having some interesting convos lately with medical professionals about the impact of exercise, re the short walks, on weight loss. A conservative estimate is exercise has about 20% impact on body fat. (Found on the internet rather readily.) I wonder, even, if that is a higher estimate than exercise warrants I myself contending it's hugely about the food and drink being consumed - probably even more than 80%.
My understanding is exercise is terrific - particularly for heart health, and for we with type two - mopping up excess glucose in our blood stream. But, for weight loss? Obviously there is a large range of personal experience and individual metabolisms. But,I think back to the 60s and 70s before the mad I mean new nutritional rules came in - folks weren't doing a lot of heavy exercise. But oh boy was the food different. And the majority of people's bodies. (Including my own, before I read up on how we get fat, and what to do about it.)
Traditional understanding of what warrants fattening food - hasn't really changed. Our 'lifestyles' and the food supply have. Potatoes, breads, cakes and cookies, ice cream - high very high carb foods - who does not understand that these are fattening? Or, used to at least?
