What is everyone’s thoughts on mounjaro? And if anyone on here has taken it

My thoughts on Mounjaro and the other weight loss drugs is that I won't take them as not enough is known about the side effects years down the line. However many people do take them and seem happy with them

One of the best indicators is the number of prescriptions per 1000 patients on a GPs list.
The rate of change shows that Doctors are increasingly in favour.
These numbers are for NHS prescriptions from openprescribing.net so don’t include the vast private use.
Also note that London drags well behind other regional team such as the NE and Yorkshire where over 38,000 were prescribed in Dec alone.

Sub icbs and even individual practices can be selected
The main problem seems that some ICBs are very much behind, some prescribe 20X as many as others eg Dorset with only 0.30 per 1000 patients. Very much a postcode lottery at the moment, but generally Doctors are talking in areas and increasing NHS prescriptions. May also be due to regional centres supporting.

I have a friend who was on Mounjaro, and switched to Wegovy when the price of the former went up. He said he was nauseous apart from when he was drinking lager. He was (is?) pre-diabetic and lost about 5 stone, but is stopping the drug soon, as he hasn't lost any more weight and can't justify the cost. His wife was on Wegovy, but developed gall bladder issues, and she has stopped the drug too.

I have been taking MJ for almost a year now.
Very positive results and almost no side effects.
25% weight loss.
Insulin requirement down from 30 units /day to 6. (CGM is very useful to control variability)
Improved sight and kidney function.
Feel much better overall and glucose levels still optimal.
What’s not to like about that.
