Mouth sores

Have a look at angular cheilitis, my dentist told me that was what the sores at the corner of my mouth was. If yours looks like that, I tried anti fungal cream and it worked for me. There's loads of advice on Google.
 
If I was in your position I would consult my GP it could be all manner of things not necessarily connected to diabetes.
