Hello there,
(for info - I'm 24, been Type 1 for 5 years)
ABout 2/3 months ago I had two huge and very very painful ulcers on the back/top of my mouth - just above where the little dangly thingy (don't know the proper name for it!) hangs at the back of the mouth - so everytime I swallowed I was in intense pain. My doctor gave me a spray for it which numbed it (for about 60seconds) so I could eat - but also when I was suffering from this (it lasted about 2/3weeks) I was suffering with high readings in the mornings. I thought this was down to my dosage and spent the following weeks, fretting and experimenting with chaning dosages etc - eventually it settled down again - when the ulcer had gone.
Now the uclers are back again - and what a surprise, my morning levels are through the roof - so it would seem that this ulcer is some kind of infection that is driving my levels up??
Has anyone ever experienced anything like these ulcers before? How did you deal with them, and the high blood sugar levels? Especially during the night - they just keep going up and up and up! And the pain - the pain is unbearable.
Are these ulcers going to be returning every 2/3months?? Is the cause of them the diabetes?
Thanks in advance for any help
