Moving house and hospital?

At the moment... artex ceilings. Also the concrete patio.
Hi there! Newby here and first question.
I'm currently at Chelsea & Westminster hospital and really "enjoy" it (for want of a better word!). I am happy with my care and my DSN is knowledgeable and always contactable.
BUT!
I am moving house and my nearest hospital will now be Stoke Mandeville. I wanted to ask, has anyone had any experience of the care at Stoke Mandeville? And also, just because I am moving, do I HAVE to change hospital? C&W will be very far away and not so convenient any more but I am more than willing to make the trip.

Welcome to the forums, I have no idea if you have to change hospitals .. Could you not ask your contact at the hospital ?
I hope someone with the right advice will be along soon
 
You may have a choice,and your GP will give you good advice regarding your request.
( it is about 1 hours drive between the 2 hospitals out of peak times )
You should give Stoke Mandeville the opportunity to show you how caring they are.
Also let your Doctor know about your concerns, The NHS has a link with advice regarding "your choice" yet rather long winded.

Hi,

Stoke Mandeville is in my 'catchment' area, along with Wexham Park and John Radcliffe. Out of the three I would definitely opt for the JR.
 
When I moved house 11 years ago I stayed with the hospital I'd been with since birth for all my medical care, that was 25 miles away I changed to the one nearest to me and the care was so much better that was 3 years ago, the Diabetic centre was 10 mins from me, but it's now moved to about 30 mins away but the centre is so much better. So it's a move for the best for me.
 
I go to a hospital out of my CCG area. It takes about an hour to get to my hospital, but so worth it. The others around here are nowhere near so good.

Wexham Park is where I was diagnosed! Bloomin awful place!

Oh, don't start me on that dreadful hospital. At least it has now been taken under the wing of Frimley Park. My daughter had both the babies there and it is truly outstanding.

Stoke also has its problems, so would definitely try the JR.

Oh and I forgot to mention, I was born in Westminster Hospital (when it was just called Westminster). Coincidence.
