multivitamin supplement for type 2

Hi Mahnoor; I guess we'll all have different opinions on this - some people feel supplements are not necessary, others find them really useful - like most things you'll probably want to experiment a bit to see what works for you. I personally like to take Vitamin D3 as there's said to be a link between vit D deficiency and diabetes... and even if there isn't, then a lot of us are deficient anyway as we mostly make vit D from the sun... which is fine at the moment as we have some sunshine but for the last six months or so, not so much! ;-)

I also take fish oils, as again, some say very good for diabetics and general health, and I also take a good multi vit (I take the Patrick Holford ones but lots out there)

Lastly, I take this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000NRVX9W/r ... wo=&hvqmt=

Which I believe has helped with my blood sugar readings.

As I said it's personal choice... :)

The general rule of thumb is that your body can only use a certain amount of vitamins, if it's getting them through your diet they just go straight through.

Having said that, if you get what you need for a reasonable price then crack on, certainly won't do any harm!

If you have a varied blanced diet then yes you probably will get all your vitamins.
Hand on heart how many of us do these days?
But how will you know if you are getting them all.
Like I said before a good base multivitamin is like an insurance policy.
To answer your original question I am type 2 with no prescribed meds and I take Vitabiotics Diabetone.
Personal choice really:smile:

I concur MC :-)
And yes, also forgot to say I'm also type 2 but take no prescribed meds; just diet, excercise and supplements. Not had my hba1c rechecked, but daily readings down from 14's upwards to averages of 7s. The chromium, especially, has I'm certain contributed. Hope that helps :-)

Hi Shzz, I've just looked in the Patrick Holford 'Say No to Diabetes' and he recommends for both - though I'm only going by his book so you may want to double check yourself :-)
