Saw the Who on Sunday at O2. They were fantastic1 And Zac Starkey is a pretty good drummer, possibly better than Ringo

For sheer, raw emotion this is hard to beat - made me cry when I first heard it, and it still does.

Oh a contentious issue but I think Kermit has a slight edge with this song. (Johhny Cash is still amazing though).

Though not this version, here's one of the first of five
songs I taped with a new tape recorder one morning
before setting off for work in <circa> 1962 .
I was 16 back then....Aaaargh, it's goes by at an
incredible pace of knots doesn't it.

Sooooo fast it's just not funny. :arghh: :playful:

Video visually not 100% but,
what makes it special imo......
he's singing away there at "92"
I think the tone of his voice sounds
better than in his popular years

I was never a fan of his but, my goodness,
I enjoyed this short video.

Nicko2k has not been around since June 2014.
Anyone know what his situation is.

Continues to be a great thread JACKTHELAD,
great job in keeping it alive, .

willie.

Continuing the Johnny Cash theme....Dean Owens, a Scottish guy's album Cash Back (Songs I learned from Johnny Cash) is basically a cover album with the exception of this song. Very much Cash style.

This was on Sounds of the 60's this morning. Brian Matthews was celebrating 25 years of hosting it.
