I just wanted to post after receiving my latest hba1c result today. A bit of background - my a1c has pretty much been permanently in the high 70s/low 80s since I was diagnosed in 2000.
BUT, things have been going really well in the last year especially. Last August I was 80, it dropped to 67 a few months ago after starting my carb counting, but today I was told that my hba1c is 63!
I've still got work to do but to know that I'm finally doing the right thing is a relief. My nurse said that she's proud of me and to keep doing what I'm doing. I'm going to see my diabetic specialist later this month and she wants to start discussing getting me an insulin pump through the NHS.
I'm just really happy and so proud of myself!
