Competitive sport. I'm more of a for fun type person.
My dad is type 2, not on insulin. He's been very ill, and has an infection. Just tested his sugars and its 17. He said earlier they went up to 24. Is this normal for a type 2? I know I can go that high as a type one, but that's because I don't produce any insulin. Should we be very worried?

It is going down now thank God.

Infections will cause a rise and so long as he has been taking his meds and keeping them down, I would not worry too much especially as the levels are now decreasing. If its still too high by the morning then it would be wise to phone his GP and let him/her take the strain.
