I am relatively new to all this my daughter was only diagnosed with diabetes a little over a year ago. Since then she has been such a trooper only being 18 when she was diagnosed but dealt with it so wonderfully. I on the other hand have not been doing the research as much as I should have as I also have a daughter of 5 who is being assessed for AUTISM and ADHD and she takes up a lot of my time. I have joint this group to become more educated and for support. I hope to hear back off people in the same situation.

Hi and welcome Hayley, there is a parent's section on the forum too which is a good way of meeting other parents. Good to hear your daughter is coping so well, part of diagnosis is coming to terms with the condition and the sooner they can do that the better as it will equip them well to cope with the challenges, that being said it's our goal to lead as normal a life as possible and t1d should never be an obstacle, it's made me challenge myself more to step outside my comfort zone. Hopefully you'll hear from other parents soon too
