Tonight at 9.30pm I tested before supper and my meter read 4.8. Looking through my notes this is my first 4-something . I am aiming for between the 4s and 5s so I'm over the moon. Though now I've had supper - 1 slice of stoneground wholemeal with some chicken slices it's probably a little higher now, but it's given me the boost I need to carry on lower carbing - and even lower carbing. At least now I know I can do it with a bit of care. I'm so happy I could celebrate with a bar of choccy - but I won't .

Just wanted to share...

that is so cool!

Yes, the low carb diet is amazing, working for me as well.
Give yourself something nice (healthy) as a reward, maybe some new cologne, or, body cream.
You deserve it!

I remember my first 4 so I know exactly how you feel. It was sometime before I got another one but when I did, it encouraged me yet again. Later, 4s made more regular appearances.

You are obviously on the right track, just keep it up. You can't hurry things - your body will adjust to the new diet at its own pace, but as you can see, it does follow what you are eating.

When I woke today my BS was 7, which is improved by a point or two.

Agree ... I found the same thing

Great result Beshlie

aww well done thats great news xx

On getting up today my BS was 6, which I am happy with.

Because of stomach pain and nausea through the day yesterday I'm cutting back to 1 x 500 Metformin for a few days (in the evening) to try and get things to return to normal, otherwise I won't be able to eat at all.

Congratulations! Reading your post really spurs me on to keep low carb-ing and hopefully I'll see a similar result soon! Well done and keep up the good work, so pleased for you. Best of luck x

Hope cutting back the Metformin works for you. Please keep us posted.

Well, i'm still getting some nausea in the afternoons but the wind pain and cramping has settled. I'll see how I go.

Well, still on the 1 Metformin and doing OK on it. My BG levels are normally in the 5s and 6s with a 7+ sometimes 2 hrs after eating. I do have a 4+ now and then. If I go to 8+ I know before I test because I get dizzy and grumpy!! But on the whole although I do get grumbly tums my eyesight is better and as I lose weight I feel better in myself, but the biggest change has been in my memory. Before lowering my BG I was getting worried about my memory!
