I'm in a bit of a pickle - help please. In a terrible spiral of binge eating, trying very hard to halt it in any way I can think of. Every day I've been getting up, managing, only for it to fall apart later. So, back to MFP. Sounds stupid, but I don't think I have ever used it properly, life is very tough at the moment but I'm going to try.

I'm not paying that whatever it is per month for a premium service so using the ordinary settings. Now, carbs, protein and fats, percentages thereof. Help. What percentages am I aiming for? As weight has gone up by far too much, I want to aim for 1000 calories, I know I can eat small amounts of carbs without major impact, but I'm happy to drop them again so no pasta, rice etc while I'm cutting back. Any suggestions for percentages? I eat two pieces of fruit daily (no bg impact) and want to continue with that, also to eat all veg, again no impact on bg's.

Any suggestions please?

I have seen this site and page suggested many times: http://www.phlaunt.com/diabetes/DietMakeupCalc.php

Jenny Rhul 's site is well worth a decent read.

Good luck with it all. Sometimes it is just really

I am no expert, but I would say try not compounding the problem by giving yourself a hard time. What is, is. You have to play the hand you are dealt, not the hand you wished you were dealt or the hand you deserved to be dealt. Trust yourself. Love yourself. Right now, you are a binging diabetic...but you are also perfect. Stay out of the past and the future...that's where all the troubles lie. You can handle today. You can always handle today.
Peace.

@ladybird64 whenever I get a bad attack of the munchies I turn to a carton of bouillon, a spoon of that with hot water each time I want to raid the fridge helps me out of the hole

I have mine set at 20%/20%/60% (fat) - and 1200 calories. If I increased the calories I'd need to decrease the% carbs and the % fat.

And then I sort of ignore them - since what was critical to me (generally) to keep my BG down was net carbs in a 2 hour period. So I set my meals to meal 1, meal 2, etc. and looked at the net carb total. What is critical at the moment (since I'm retrying the blood sugar diet) is staying around 800 calories - and MFP won't let me set it that low. If you want to look at how I have it set up there - and what my meals like, feel free. It's an open diary. The best look at an 800 calorie diet would be the 8-week period running up to around May 8 (?). I have not been logging as diligently since I shifted cancer care to my top priority around that time, so before that is the best representation of 1200 calories. Same username there as here.
