Started a week ago. 4 shots a day. 5 units to cover my meals and 10 at night. I have seen absolutely no improvement. My numbers are still out of sight! 250-399 (US citizen here). Any suggestions? Thanks

Not carb counting. I have toast and black coffee. Lunch is always a salad with Italian dressing on the side. Dinner is a protein (beef or chicken) rice/noodles or corn/baked potato. I eat very early so I have a snack maybe a bowl of cereal or PB&J with milk. This is my typical diet for at least 2 weeks now.... I'm about say the heck with this and order a pizza!
If your levels are too high, you either need to eat less carbohydrates or increase insulin intake. You should be carb counting to match your insulin to food you eat. Its still early days so don't stress too much. Contact your nurse to provide you with information on carb count and how to adjust insulin
They tell me to take more insulin and then i have hypos so i cut the insulin back down and eat less, and yes too many carbs there I eat one potatoe a day rest is vegs and a couple slices of bread
Thanks everyone. Carb counting it shall be. My nurse practitioner gave me no nutritional advice other than to stay away from fast food and sweets. Thanks again.
