In general I believe there is a legal reason why readings cannot be altered or deleted. It is so meters can be used in a legal setting and also by coroner courts in case of dispute. The main reason I believe was DVLA wanting to be able to review testing history in the event of a road accident.

How old are the readings? To be fair, they could be “testament” regarding the contrast to how well you might be doing now..

Have you tried just taking the batteries out for a couple of hours?
