My new toy!

Oooohh, very posh indeed. We'll see you on ready steady cook next.

I can definitely see one of those sitting in the cupboard alongside the mandolin. Might get my daughter eating more veg as well.

Just got to ask. I make courgette lasagne but first have to slice then bake the courgettes and then kitchen towel dry them before going in the lasagne otherwise theirs huge amounts of liquid from the courgettes.

Can you just tell me whether you just spiraluse and cook normally or do you have to bake the spiralised noodles to get rid of the luquid that oozes?

There are 2 ways of doing it, you can either warm the noodles by tossing them in butter/oil in a pan for a minute or use them raw and toss your sauce through them and let the sauce warm them. They are better with a thick or dry sauce, when I use cream cheese I just toss the raw noodles through the warm sauce

So no slicing n drying in oven first.. Brilliant. On my list of gadgets to buy then!

View attachment 6221 My prawn with noodles, only 5g of carbs and 160cals. It was delish

That looks so good!
I've only ever heard of spiralizers since posting on here, something else I've leaned and am looking to buy one. I'm hopeless with gadgets, I usuallt end up totally frustrated but them and they end up being thrown in the back of a cupboard, so I have to get one that's really easy to use, idiot proof, any suggestions please?

It's so easy to use and clean up is easy too just rinse under the tap, I advise you get a good brush for cleaning the blades as they are extremely sharp! I use mine most days for noodles or coleslaw, shredding veggies for stir frying, it's one of the best gadgets I have ever bought. There are a lot of recipes on line too. I got mine from spiralizer UK direct but Lakeland are selling them now

It looks great Jack aren't they fun?:) I even have a pet name for mine now Walter Whirler - lol try this site for some great recipes

I can really recommend if anyone is thinking about it it's the best £30 I have spent, the downside of most gadgets is usually the clean up but this is just rinse and wipe, so easy. I got mine from the site that Annie above has posted the link to.
It's pet name is dangerously close to Walter White. I hope it doesn't turn into a killer :hilarious:
