Nausea and dizziness

My doctor recently started me on insulin, and is ordering regular blood tests. I have to be fasting for these tests, but in the middle of the night, my bg has been dropping to the point where I feel so nauseous and dizzy that I get up to use the bathroom and have to lie on the floor for a while.

I can't eat anything until 8 am, but I need a way to overcome the nausea and still be able to take my test the next morning. Any ideas?

Hi miko

I realise it might be difficult but have you checked to see what your BG is when you are feeling so unwell in the middle of the night ?

If you need to lie on the floor, you NEED to check your bg
Also, have your BP checked for orthostatic hypotension - which is what happens when your bg drops when you get up too quickly
