Need a friend??

Hello!

Im Abbie, 21 from Essex. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when i was 12. I coped with it well to begin with, but slowly over the years pushed my closest friends away because i always felt "different" in a way! (stupid i know)
I have this year also been diagnosed with SRA (Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis) which has made this even worse!

I haven't wrote on here to give my life story, i thought it would be nice to try and make some new friends!.. So,
Hello Everyone! :p xx

Welcome aboard Abbie :D

I'll be your friend, but you must promise not to touch my sprouts! :joyful:

#TisTheSeason :woot:

I used to feel different but I have to learn I'm not, I'm on a pump so I just like to think I just have my pancreas on the outside rather than inside which I can get dig colours of covers on it, a non diabetic can't customise their pancreas

Hi :) im coming 21 next month and was also diagnosed when i was 12! Similar situation I pushed everyone away and don't really socialise as much as I did when I was younger. I completely understand the whole feeling different thing

Hello @abbdrinkwater Welcome to the forum ;)

It's not uncommon to feel they want you do, I find I don't like committing to social get togethers, I used to love going out, not so fussed anymore, it's the mental strain of feeling ok, within range, then how i'm going to manage when I'm out. Loads of friends here, we're a good bunch ;)

Hi Abbie I was diagnosed with diabetes in2005 and I feel as if I don't get any help from any1 but I am sturburn I don't like asking for help that I think I am stupid

Thanks for replying everyone! Glad it's not just me that feels this way!

This forum is a lovely way to make you realise it's not just you going through this!
Send me a message :) xx
