Your reaction, regardless of the GI content, depends on what type of diabetic you are, how you own body reacts to it, and what meds (if any) you are on.

When a 30g portion was tested on normal subjects it had a GI of 75 (GL16), when tested on diabetics by the same researchers using the same methodology it had a GI of 74 (GL 16) http://www.glycemicindex.com/foodSearch.php
