Hi everyone I am new to all this. I've decided to join this forum because I need more information on how to fight type two diabetes. I've recently diagnosed with this killer after my daughter was born in March 2016. I am a mom of three kids under 12. It rather frustrating because I work as a level 2 Dental Assistant and can barely stand for long periods of time, because of that I quit my job. In August of 2016 my Doc gave me insulin, 30units at nights and a table of measurements on how to use my Humalog. I did all that but then after two months my body started getting all itchy in the mornings whereby big crazy bumps appeared on my lower body. I told my Doc and he took me off of both insulin. Now he put me on pills. 2 metformin at nights and two glicolzide in the mornings. That glicolzide got me using over 100 strips in 3 days. It keeps on dropping glucose levels no matter what I eat. I called my doctor and he said I should cut the 120 MG to 60 MG now my entire body is weak I can't even take care of my kids. It's rather frustrated. My energy level is gone. Sad.

sorry to hear this
very odd to go on insulin .. then on tablets .
how often do you do blood sugars now as you do not mention them .??
another thing do you have diabetic clinic at your local hospital as all involved are very good at identifying you type of diabetic s and have more history and deal with more diabetics than your doc i still use mr docs but he understands that NHS CLINICS are very good the only thing i will say high cost of parking can be off putting also may be a long way for you to go and as you have family your time is limited
also a pump with your life style may be a great way for you to go i use tummy for needle which you change every 3 days
sorry can not be of much help ps blood sugars need to be done only pre meals and at other i find if you do to many i start overreaction and OVER CORRECTION
PS KIDS GIVE MUM A BREAK only joking
vic years many on insulin

Thank you for replying. My fasting blood sugar is 7.0 depends on how early I take my dinner. Then after that I will go on to breakfast by taking my Glicolzide. At that point my BG will go up to like 8.7 and after two mins my body starts feeling funny and when I test it's way past where I started. 7.0. So because of the way it keeps dropping I have to keep on testing and keep a candy in my mouth to keep it in a normal range. I live in Toronto, Canada so I don't know what they have here at the hospital.
