Need Reassurance?

I wish you well @Alex_B.
Family can be so hurtful at times. Is he playing on your worries?

No. Your diabetes isn't your fault.

You must get that brother of yours educated and more supportive. Now THAT is harder than diabetes management. If he doesn't want to listen.
You have my support solving your blood relationship blips. Some people really know how to upset us, deeply.

He's been kicked out, not just because of what he said, I do not live with ignorance. I eat a ton of vegetables (sometimes just on their own with a bit of gravy!!) I eat tons of fruit because I love my fruit and veg!

I drink energy drinks to stay high because I am terrified of going low again as sometimes it happened in my sleep for 2 weeks and it just scared me stupid, I've talked to my diabetes specialist nurse about this and she said it was up to me because I am an adult and no one can physically stop me but myself, they are now actually trying to help me after 2 years of asking!!! They will no longer lecture me about control as I've told them I am trying my best.

Also while my brother was living here I never use to eat any meals, but now hes gone I am now eating my lunch which is a good thing! I'm glad he's gone as like I said I do not live with ignorance anymore, this is the second time he's bought up my diabetes and blamed me! He also sent a screenshot of google saying "should diabetics drink energy drinks?" And it said type 2, so clearly that thick he thinks I have type 2 (no offence to type 2s!!) but clearly doesn't know anything about diabetes and I am not gonna bother teaching him, he's not coming back as I told my mum that if he comes back, I will pack my bags and go! Thanks for all the support and advice guys!

Hi @Alex_B. Definitely NOT your fault for becoming type 1. I was lucky and had a supportive family (46 years ago when diagnosed).
Personally I would try and get off the energy drinks as the sugar content is VERY high.
Type 1 will take a while to get into and you will make mistakes, I still do 46 years into it :). Take your time and if you need any help or advice just post on here and someone will be along and help out. NO question is too stupid :)

I've gone low in my sleep too many times. I'm loving having an alarm - based on libre.

Morally speaking, but sometimes you have to forgive. Then get on with it. Wish you well.
