My DSN says I have excellent BG levels, but NHS levels are sometime thought to be on the high side, so depending on your BG levels it may possibly be related to 'higher' blood sugar levels..... Maybe worth testing to see if there is a link.
I have recently noticed a connection between frequent peeing and moderately high blood sugars, eg.
* if I have to get up once for a pee during the night, my pre breakfast BG reading is between 5.5 and 6.5
* if I have to get up twice for a pee during the night my pre breakfast BG reading is around 7 or over
* If I do not need to get up for a pee during the night my pre breakfast BG reading will be under 5.5
I thought a few weeks back that maybe getting up during the night was the cause of higher BG reading, but ruled this out by testing at 4:00am one morning when I did not need a pee and my pre breakfast reading at 7:30am was virtually the same, both a touch under 5.5.
A few days back, after lunch I noticed I had to wee very frequently (5 times in 5 hrs). I had a roast beef carvery (no York pudding, pots, carbs etc) but they had little veg so I took a big helping of cauliflower cheese. Tested my BG levels after an hour, 8.7, after two hrs 6.3. Normally I would expect a reading of around 6 after an hour after a low carb meal...... The cauliflower cheese obviously was high carb.
The following days lunch, much the same food, with virtually the same drinks (but no cauliflower cheese), and just one wee in 6hrs after lunch.
A few months back I saw my GP re. Frequent peeing. (He did a few tests, ultrasound etc, nothing wrong, and recommended Drinking less tea but more water), back then my pre breakfast sugar levels were around 7, now they are averaging just under 6 and (until yesterday afternoon, thought his recommendation was working)...... But I am now sure it is nothing to do with drinking, and all due to higher sugar levels.
Diagnosed T2 in sept 2013, BS levels 20+. BMI 22, age 58. Requested a GAD test in November, came back very high 2,000+, doc said I would be T1 within weeks, but presently still LADA taking no insulin or medication, and striving to keep my BS readings one hour after meals under 7.8 in order to keep as many insulin making pancreas beta cells as possible for as long as I can.
