Having problems with my pen needles at present omnican fine ,lots of bruising and feels like skin trying to hold on to needle when withdrawing. I was on BD pentapoint which wre great but same old story price for nhs too much and yes I know that i can request a return to BD but feel guilty asking as i do understand the need for cash saving. So point is (pardon the pun) which ones do you all find good as having looked at pharmacy prices just cant pay that sort of money for my prefered ones. Have asked spirit healthcare company for a sample of theirs but meanwhile any advice ?

I use the pen and lancets for the Codefree meter and have never had a problem with bruising. I only ever use two fingers to test the ring finger and the small one on my left hand and I prick on the side.. can't do it on my right hand to awkward as I am right handed.. never have any bruising and the skin is still soft

PS
The Codefree meter is mostly the one of choice for people here as the strips are the cheapest it is available on Amazon

Thanks Pink but its the insulin pen needles which are the problem my lancets are fine :inpain:

My personal preference is DB too. When I can't find DB (not always in stock here) I buy the NovaFine brand. But then I'm in Australia so we may have different products to what you have there. Do you have NovaFine there though? I don't mind them. Although I have never seen any other brand here other than the 2 I just mentioned.

Yes Mep novofine is here but not the 4mm version but see lots of different makes and who knows what they are like

Hi. Here in the UK 4mm needles are readily available and the best choice if your skin is only average thickness. I've tried both BD Microfine and GlucoRX and both are good, the latter being cheaper.
