Hi and welcome. There are many T1 and T1.5s on the forum. Has the GP taken the two tests for T1.5 (LADA) yet i.e. GAD and c-peptide? There are some pointers to LADA such as being slim and perhaps on the young side or having lost weight unexpectedly. LADA is T1 that comes on later in life and can come on quite slowly. Sometimes tablets will work for a while (they did for me) but insulin will be needed and it's better to start the insulin early. The right diet is important for all of us and most find a low-carb diet is the right approach. Although with insulin you can be more flexible you can gain weight if you have too many carbs. If you want any help/info about insulin do come back perhaps on the T1 or LADA forum. Some nurses provide excellent support but not all.
