Thanks for the help and reading !!

Gosh, you have to be tested to know what type. When you are younger and get type 1, the process happens pretty fast, I believe in children it can be weeks. As a LADA, it is what they label adults that get it and there is a honeymoon phase that can last up to 8 years where you still make some insulin but slowly you don't. As a type 2, you are insulin resistant and the sugars can build up in your blood stream because your system is not working up to par.

A certain amount of type 2's they believe might actually be type 1's because you can't always easily tell. They test you for antibodies that show you are type 1, even if you test negative there is still a much slimmer chance that you could be type 1 unknown why group. A C peptide test is also done to see if you are still producing insulin and how much you are producing.

As already said it is impossible to tell without having the requisite tests but I wanted to say congratulations on some impressive blood control so quickly and also welcome to the forum, stick around as I am sure you will find much useful information here as your actual diagnosis becomes clear.

Hi and welcome @JuanNov!

No one here is allowed or able to make a diagnosis. Typically speaking, being overweight or obese would be symptomatic of too much insulin, so it’s probably more likely that you have insulin resistant diabetes rather than autoimmune. But it’s very complicated and sometimes there can be an overlap of sorts. As others have said, only the requisite medical tests can draw a reliable diagnosis. All else being equal, if you were autoimmune I would expect the high blood glucose concentration to be accompanied with weight loss, but you don’t say whether you were gaining or losing weight at 108kg. If you were gaining I think it’s more likely you are type 2. You are young which makes type 2 less likely, but age doesn’t appear to matter so much these days in either type of diabetes.

Best of luck. No matter the outcome, please stick around here, as the community is chock-a-block with experts and seasoned professionals :D
