Hi, been a member for 3 Months since being diagnosed in August. Been reading a lot on here but this is my first post. August Weight 128 kgs Hba1c 92. Now weight 111kgs Hba1c 35. Done with low carb, no veg as don't like them. Many thanks to all on here for the great advice. Rob

Hi and welcome,

Well done, that is a brilliant drop, both weight and HbA1c.

No veg at all? That worries me a bit. I'm not a big veg eater either, but it is important to keep some sort of track of all the fiber, vitamins and minerals we need and make sure you are getting sufficient.

how very fine results Rob ... congratulations ... ! when you don´t like the vegs. maybe you could add a multi-vitamin pill one without iron... because I guess you eat loads of meat now... and will most likely need vitamin c and traceminerals not iron...

Update Weight now 103 kgs trying to get down to 90kgs. Very slow going now. Get there eventually

Hi Rob you've given me a boost today, I'm also anti-veg and never eaten them so was really struggling to work out how I would get on! I am going to try to introduce some in small amounts but interesting to hear your success, well done...

Wish I could eat fruit safely.
I ate a mango today - first piece of fruit other than melon and restricted amounts of grapes since diagnosis in November.
BG reading 14.3 mmol/l.
Oh well - back to the nice leafy greens. Maybe if I lose another 20lb...

I'm not a veg fan. I tolerate some but that's about all. It's been an interesting few weeks as my OH loves them and has kind of seen my diagnosis as a good reason for us to move to a much more veg diet. On the other hand I love salad and she's not a fan. For me I now have a great reason to eat more salad (with nice meat and cheese of course). So what's my message? You decide what you eat, not anyone else. Who is it that has to protect themselves? I know my OH only means well, but.....
