New badly informed article

Looks entirely fictional to me.

It was posted by the vegatarian society of Singapore on their Facbook page. They should know better.

So a very low carb diet that will induce rapid weight loss helps reverse diabetes? Really? We've heard that so many times before. What type of DM did this fellow have? Could it also be that by eating healthily he would also feel better? 1kg a day weight loss would have me checking my ketone levels!

Dangerous nonsense promoting a cure which no real references to longitudinal study or type of diabetes. This diet would kill me. Prior to Banting and Best's work, extreme diets were the only way for t1s to extend life. Many would have starved to death.

did you read the juice contents?

I don't really have anything important to say, my mind seems to concentrate on how things are written, sorry.

. . . . . he accidentally found out that he had diabetes when he visited the doctor because he constantly felt thirsty.

Not exactly accidental, he had a symptom, he saw the doctor, it was diabetes, no accidents there.
Sorry again, changed my mind. He was told that his pancreas wasn't producing insulin, so it must have started working again. His "drink" contained about 150 gms of carbohydrate, about half what a lot of people consume.

. . . . . .unlimited amounts of fruits.

If there was 150 gms of carb in the fruit in his drink, how many more carbs was he eating?

I have my doubts, but who knows?

I take it that the smoothie of bananas, apples, kale and kiwi fruit wasn't to be chugged down but drunk through the day and then if he was hungry he could eat unlimited fruit and veg plus tuna.

If he was having a little of the smoothie plus unlimited veg plus tuna and he chose mostly above ground veg, the carb load might not be too high. But I don't believe the 1kg a day weight loss that's just fiction.
