New Doctor.

Went to see my new doctor this evening because i am having trouble with the old water works , this was the first visit. He had a look at the results from my first blood test
weight 90 kg
bmi 30.2
bp 115/76
HbA1c 7.8
chol 3.9
trig 1.06
hdl 1.7

Told me i dont need vastins as my chol was excellent even though my last doctor prescribed them ,told me my bmi was a little high, checked my bs readings told me to keep testing and keep trying different foods ,said he could make an appointment to see the diabetic team but no need just keep doing what i am doing ,he wants a nother blood test done in 2 weeks to see how it compares to the first one and has added 2 more tests" liver and thyroid function" and would see me when the results came back.

Yea my mate recommended him been type 1 for 42 years .

Hi. That HBa1C is too high and not good so I'm not so impressed. It needs to be 7 or below to be in the right area. It may be a low-carb diet will bring it in range as it will also help you lose weight. If the blood sugar doesn't come down even on a low-carb diet then some (more?) diabetes medication may be needed. Have you thought about a PSA test and a check for your prostate size? Views on the PSA test vary a lot. My GP who wondered why I asked for a PSA test but did check my prostate size when the PSA had gone up a bit and found my prostate was very large. A few months later and seeing excellent urologsts and having a prostate reduction op all is very well and no cancer. So, for me, the PSA test proved it's worth. There are many reasons for frequent urination but an enlarged prostate is a common one.
