well finding out I'm type two has motivated me to get even fitter so to help I've decided to purchase a road bike to crack in more miles as my mountain bike is great off rd but a slug on it lol I've brought through wiggle a felt f95 in bright monster green  I'm hoping i can keep this diabetes at bay! as i really don't want it progressing to type one!

Good luck with the biking. I'm thinking of getting a decent road bike too. I've got a nice mountain bike but use it mainly on the road and it is a slog ! It can be disheartening when you're pushing hard and a sleek racing bike just cruises past !

Yep same here. Wiggle are selling bikes at 40 to 50% off at mo they have a basso 600 from 900 which is an awesome bike! Cant wait for my felt to turn up also have all new gear on route as my baggy armoured mountain bike
Shorts eyc wont suit the racer lol

Gawd, you lads make me feel soo guilty. I bought a road bike after finding my mountain bike was like pedalling through treacle. It's years since I've moved without the assistance of petrol and it came as a shock to discover my legs don't work like they used to.
Anyhoo, I decided to semi-cheat and bought one with electric assist and it's great! Living in this part of the world there's only up hill and down dale, hardly any flat but the batteries let me get out and enjoy cycling again.

Clap clap well done for getting a road bike I've managed over the summer on my hybrid to start off doing 5 miles up to 40 miles now I'm t1 so have to balance hypos with highs but what a great feeling inside getting little goals hope the weather stays a bit longer to keep us all peddling , keith

Starting on the slow road to looking after my self doing small steps so I can feel the benefits before moving on ;) x

Nice idea, although probably not ready to join a club yet. I'm a bit of a plodder. Certainly cycling more and erging less though.
