I had the "new profile posts" last week but now it has disappeared. Why can everybody else see it but not me?

By the way I hate it when people post on my profile, much prefer pm.

@Giverny, we have said why and not just me, but a few of us and there are probably many more too, It's here in black and white, I'm just absolutely exasperated by it, and really, really disappointed. It's like having a battle with the invisible man, and not what I want to do.
We are going round and round chasing a dog's tail, that doesn't want to be caught.
Maybe I could get some members to convey their concerns/worries to me? and then pass it ALL on to you via a pm?
No problems ....but I think we need to go to a higher level if we don't get anywhere ....

Hi Totto
You can't see the profile posts being written , under moderators on duty , then all members in red , then the profile news ....

I just fail to see what the problem is with having the profile posts on the front page. If you want to PM me with peoples' concerns/worries written in a comprehensive way, then by all means do so. I'm trying hard to try and understand what the problem is here but really don't understand at all.

I am trying to do that if possible.
I'm sorry you don't understand what many members have been expressing, it is there in black and white. So I feel , and some others that we are banging our heads against a huge corporate brick wall.
I am not a Facebook lover, I have an account ( mostly pestering from my teenager)!! I do respect people's views on Facebook, even though I may not understand the enormous following regarding FB, (now do you grasp where I am coming from with this|) I do hope so.

Sometimes we need to act like a tree and bend a little ..........................

Regards RRB

The sidebar has nothing to do with Facebook

@Giverny Now I know this is a generalisation. I am doing my best not to make this an 'us and them' argument. Many of us, particularly types 2s are, well, let's say not as young as we once were. We were brought up with certain standards, morals and etiquette. The flashing up of new profile posts in such an obvious way is alien to us. In short it is 'common' , 'loud' demeaning, almost indecent and does not add to forum ambience. As I have said so many times before if we wanted to belong to an organisation that conducts itself in such a brash, chavvy way.....we would have joined Facebook with the other loud mouths....wouldn't we, huh?

Yes, I'm out of these arguments now. I know I'm wasting my time. Decisions have been made and the young are being pandered to at the expense of us 'nearly young'. That's the way of the world....and apparently this forum too. Sad, but true I fear.

edit: We know the side bar has nothing to do with Facebook, we are old, not stupid.

It's just another way to help forum members engage with one another and perhaps help out people they wouldn't otherwise notice. I've said it so many times: if you want to have a private conversation with one or more people, do so in a PM.

and especially when I and others have clicked privacy setting, members only ?
This means members (i.e. anyone that is registered, and logged in) see it.

i really fail to see what is not being acknowledged , all discussed in a very comprehensive way
I personally do not understand why requests to remove the profile messages being seen by all cannot be removed ...
Members are unhappy , not all , but the threads open and closed give the general picture ...

Best wishes ...Kat

We do not need the side bar to engage with other members

@Giverny It is apparent that you and at least one moderator has comprehension issues. It is also apparent that no-one really cares what the members here want. There is no point continuing this discussion as there is non so blind as those who will not see.
