Hello
I found out last week that I was pre diabetic.... New words have come into my life such as Hb1ac and many others,my Hb1ac was 44. I've had a few days to reflect and start to get my head around things. I've registered with the NHS diabetes prevention program so any additional advice, help and ideas from any of you good folks would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @Jon454 , and welcome.

Pre-diabetes can be turned around and you can avoid progressing to full diabetes.

Lots of members here do well by reducing the carbohydrates in their diet.

Some useful info in the link below, but also have a read of forum posts and do ask questions.

Hi @Jon454,
The best advice I can give is keep a food diary for a couple of weeks to see how much sugar you are consuming the recommended amount is less than 9 spoonful's a day.

This is the best way to realistically see what it is your eating on average and be able to identify what simple changes you can make to stay under this target. I strongly recommend following this up with looking into the impact a low carb diet can have on helping you avoid slipping over the line in to full diabetes.

Personally I found this book inspirational The 8 week blood sugar Diet - by Dr Michael Mosley
(it took me about 12 weeks to revers my condition but I've always been a bit slow.)
