That would be the starting point only.
Gp's do not give insulin pumps to patients. Only hospitals in UK as they have to have soecialist nurses and doctors to train the pump patient and to look after you.
Your GP should be able to refer you.
You have to fulfil the NICE criteria guidelines to get a pump. They are becoming more available to T1's but you hsve to be able to count carbs and normally have to have tried all methods of injecting, and been on a course (DAFNE) too.
