hi. my name is marek. im from poland but i live and work in UK. Can anyone tell me how i can apply for insulin pump? Where i need to go and how start apply? Im allready registred on GP.

You would need to be registered with a consultant at the hospital and be able to prove that you are entitled to it under the UK NICE guidelines.

That would be the starting point only.
Gp's do not give insulin pumps to patients. Only hospitals in UK as they have to have soecialist nurses and doctors to train the pump patient and to look after you.
Your GP should be able to refer you.
You have to fulfil the NICE criteria guidelines to get a pump. They are becoming more available to T1's but you hsve to be able to count carbs and normally have to have tried all methods of injecting, and been on a course (DAFNE) too.

I've just checked this gentleman's profile and although he has said he's T1, he's not on insulin, just diet. Don't quite understand why he's asking about a pump......................

I had to be the exception of course

Please change your profile. It reads 'Diet only' not insulin. It's confusing for the rest of us.

Why do you want a pump? Are you struggling with injections?
