fish (esp oily ones), chicken - GOODref carbs, what can i cut out? fish, rice, chicken are supposed to be good?
Hi JackI cant ride a normal exercise bike (hurts my rear and back), or use the treadmill (feet) but ive found salvation with the recumbent bike, 100 minutes flat out with lever 3 resistance and some fast tunes on the headphones and im lathered (George Thorogood and Jerry lee lewis i thank you)
i do a small amount of machine work (weights) and a 15 minute sauna too
its not quite "pain", more discomfort, i honestly thought it was down to my trainers not being well cushioned...
ive come across gel inserts but the (supposed) good ones are £30 a pair
and yes, the doctor likes to blame everything from headaches, erectile failures and bad feet on diabetes
5 Stone is so much. are you having trouble dropping it?The usual answer to everything is "when your sugar is down or you lose weight it will get better"
wish id got that in writing
ive a 49" chest (not much fat up there) and im 6ft tall, the BMi says i should be 5 stone lighter!
Thanks Brunneria I'll have a look. am willing to try anything at this stage. thanks againHi @Jackthehat and @kathyo
I'm listening to you talk about your feet, and I'm wondering about vit b12 deficiency.
It is surprisingly common, has symptoms similar to neuropathy, and most doctors haven't got a clue because they were taught in med school that it is v rare and only appears with pernicious anaemia - which has now been shown as factually incorrect.
Have a google. And a youtube. for vit b12 deficiency.
Of course, this is only a suggestion, and I may be completely wrong. But worth having a look, eh?
"THEY" say that my ideal weight is 64kg. not really sure about stones. I am currently 58Kg and still have love handles and a fat tummy. (definitely diabetic weight). I wish I could just liposuction around my organs and maybe be done with diabetes.ref weight loss, i have in the last 2 weeks switched form 100% "cardio" type exercise (bike/treadmill/rowing) to 50/50 cardio and the machines (basically like weights) doing arms/legs and the weight loss has stopped, presumably because im now turning some fat to muscle instead of burning it
BTW, the suggested BMi off the scales for me (6ft tall) shows the maximum "ideal" weight as 13st but ive got a 48" chest, and theres no fat on that, 13st is simply not achievable
what kind of rice? brown rice should be ok. not white at allref carbs, what can i cut out? fish, rice, chicken are supposed to be good?
OK some investigation shows that I am 58 Kg, 127.868 pounds & 9.13344 Stone"THEY" say that my ideal weight is 64kg. not really sure about stones. Hi, ive been T2 since 1998 with BS (daily) in the 7 to 10 range but recent it has risen, and on the 12 week "long term" blood test it has gon up from 7 to 8, so the clinic warned me insulin could be looming, im a taxi driver and my badge could be lost if i went on Insulin SO......change of diet and hit the gym 4 times a week (soon to be 3 gym + 3 swims) but i have a problem with my feet, specifically the underside........it feels like im always walking on cobblestones, making some exercise difficult (treadmills for one), my clinic said this would fade if my BS and weight fell but ive lost about 10lb in 5 weeks with no change to my feet, any ideas?...
I didnt have this problem till about 2 years ago
Im 60 in feb, 6ft tall and 18st 2lb now
cheers
Brown rice (any rice) sends my blood sugar up very high. I can have about a tablespoon at a time before I get a ridiculous spike.
I'm afraid I wouldn't follow ANY of the so-called diabetic diets unless I tested every meal using my blood glucose meter. Far too many of them promote the idea that carbs are ok if they are brown, and that carbs should be the basis of the diet.
Many of us on this forum have learned, to our cost, that diets like that make our diabetes get worse.
