New member greeting and question

Hi everyone. I'm new and was diagnosed T2 yesterday.

I am 54 overweight at 107 kg.
Married
3 grown up lads
I have sleep apnoea

DEPRESSED and on all kinds of tablets including Lithium

I am off to the urgent chest pain clinic tomorrow

With all this you may understand why much of what the Doc said went over the top of my head

Thanks. I must admit I am in turmoil just now. My appointment with the diabetic clinic is in a couple of weeks (after my hols)

I am wondering what to do with my diet. But I will take your advice

Hi, welcome. Same age as you. Diagnosed 3 years ago. Used to dread going to sleep. Would wake feeling I was suffocating. Lost 5 stone in weight on low carb/high fat diet. No more sleep apnoea.

Hi Steve good luck. Diabetes is nasty, but perhaps not as bad as you think. You are diet only so your doctor must have thought you were not too bad.
As mo said come back after the chest clinic.
Too many things to think about will make you worse.
If it helps any I was diagnosed T2 and am now diagnosed cured.

By the way I am 56 and was 20 stone or 127kg
