Hi,
I'm a new member and wanted to ask a question.
My husband of 30 years has many health problems including diabetes and I give him his insulin injections. Today after his injection I was putting the top back on before getting rid of the needle when I managed to somehow miss and scratch myself, drawing blood. No idea how I did this as I'm usually so careful.
I washed the area immediately and soaked the hand in diluted disinfectant too.
My question is, as this is my husband's needle, is there anything else I need to do?
None of his health issues can be transmitted. To the best of our knowledge he doesn't have Hep C or anything else "nasty".
He has had blood transfusions in the past, his last being 27 years ago.
We are both fully immunised against tetanus.
My opinion is that the risk is tiny. Has anyone else had a similar situation?
