New study - low-carbohydrate diet has a favourable impact on low-grade inflammation in T 2 diabetes

• In type 2 diabetes, randomization to advice to follow a low-carbohydrate diet or a low-fat diet had similar effects on weight reduction, while effects on
inflammation differed.
• Aft er 6 months, the low-carbohydrate diet, but not the low-fat diet, had a favourable impact on low-grade inflammation in type 2 diabetes.
 
My own experience bears out the findings of this study.

I get unspecified joint and muscle aches when I eat too many carbs. After a couple of weeks of better carb control, they disappear.
 
My arthritis is less painful ful when I cut out junk food most of which was carbs.
