New study

I miss profiteroles way more than I miss beer (I'm a dry bubbly gal as a rule), but beer was a great drink for socialising, good on the pocketbook, and I have been searching and searching for a good low carb substitute... So all inputs welcome.

My experience has been that you come across a fabulous low carb artisan/boutique brewery drop, and then it drops off the face of the earth while you pop into liquor stores and online sites looking for it...There have been some gorgeous ones in Kiwiland, but it tends to be a one off while I look for it again to no avail. I am hoping, along with low-carb ways of eating and drinking, so will low-carb decent drops. It has happened to some extent already. But I'm hanging out for one that sticks around, that is truly decent. Like this one in your neck of the woods! lucky you!

Didn't mean to derail the thread. I will pass on the details to my son and suggest he gets a tummy tuck. Thank you for the info.

Certainly the NHS is missing the boat by not doing preventative measuring. It has always been like that - reactive not proactive. They could save so much time and money by simple available testing. in my case I did it for them. DUK held a sweepstake event in the local supermarket carpark, and were offering free testing. That was the start of my journey. Up to that point I had no symptoms at all. TOFI, good BMI, not thirsty, not weeing excessively. The only sign I had was a tendancy to sweat easily in the summer which I thought was genetic. I ate sugar, but did not crave it.

I’m a sub 20 bmi so I feel your pain.

Cheers @OrsonKartt

& Semantics indeed .

Flag carrier here of 'better control'
( for transparency )

I'm Seeing it as preventing flood damage

I found out I lived on a flood plain that day I was DX'd & now accept there's always a risk

But it doesn't mean I don't try to limit the possible damage it can cause by some simple & some more spirited precautions .

I baled and dried everything out when first flooded (DX & LCHF for 6 months)

I then looked to limit any places the water might leak in (low carb diet )
And reinforced where possible (exercise).

And keep a close eye on things
(Glocose meter daily uses )

So far, so good.

Had to take action once or twice (Xmas, holidays) to stay on top, but fingers crossed not had another flood like the DX one.

The whole gaff might be in need of redecorating, and I'll admit all the doors creak a lot more, & yes, ok the Roofs not so well thatched ....but I think overall the foundations haven't fared too badly with a little informative prevention, imho

And no where near to the damage I expect those who decided at my Desmond's meeting,

...."it's only water, what a lot of fuss about nothing "

as they passed the biscuits & cake around, have likely inflicted on themselves, sadly.
