Hello everyone. I am new to the forum, although I have been reading various threads for a few months now. I was diagnosed type 1 at 13, 27 years ago. Ive not always been a very good diabetic, and have in the last few years cone to realise that part of this was due to my non acceptance of diagosis. Back in those days, I think, there wasn't much support for the emotional side of diagnosis and coping on a day to day basis with all the challenges diabetes throws in your face. This resulted in an eating disorder, which I have only recently found out is something that other diabetics have also suffered with. Facing up to all this has given me better insight into myself and the way I control my diabetes. The forum posts i have been reading have really helped me to feel better about engaging with drs etc, and not feel like a failure, its good to know that we are not alone!
