Hi all!
My name is Martin. I have been Type 1 Diabetic for 36 years and have kept in reasonably good health and as far as I can I have always stuck to my regime. I have never allowed it (Diabetes) to rule me. I have done the kind of work I wanted to even through the tough early days when insurance companies thought I was about to fall off this mortal coil and either not give me car insurance or charge me extortionate amounts of money and as for life insurance, well that was a complete 'No, no'.

I am fortunate enough to only have had one bad hypo that landed me in hospital and I still don't know exactly why it happened!

When people say to me "How can I inject myself so many times?" they say the couldn't do it, my answer is "It has to be better than the alternative!"

Looking forward to getting to know you.

Martin

Hi @MartinClift and welcome to the forum :)

When people say to me "How can I inject myself so many times?" they say the couldn't do it, my answer is "It has to be better than the alternative!"

I've had that comment too on many occasions. We were diagnosed around the same time and dreaded the first injection with those big glass syringes and needles, still remember having to practise on a orange before I was allowed to inject myself.
