not heard of basal testing, il read up on it later today. going to the diabetic clinic right now heh.
the diabetic nurse told me lantus lasts 24 hours, il mention that one that lasts almost 2 days would be great to inject less. although i know what she will say, "wait till your numbers stabilize and maybe we can look into that" its what i was told when i mentioned a pump and the libre.
Tresiba is still injected daily, not every other day. There's no point considering a pump until you know how to carb count, what your insulin to carb ratio is and how to basal test and adjust basal dosages. Have you requested a place on a DAFNE (carb counting) course? They usually aren't given until about 12 months post diagnosis because the honeymoon makes finding your I:C ratio tricky.
Here's a guide on how to basal test - https://mysugr.com/basal-rate-testing/
As for a libre, you don't need stable numbers, a prescription, or to be honest any idea of what your doing to use one. All you need is cash and the right phone if your planning on using the phone as reader or a bit more cash if you will be using the abbot reader. Anyone can buy a libre.
