New Year, New LCHF Me

What would have been so bad about the chicken balti and lamb tikka? Was it that it seemed so much less than before, or that you would stand out as different? I probably have a smaller appetite than you, but I'd have been happy with the chicken and lamb. I could "catch up" on veggies tomorrow.

You're probably better off in your pocket though. You must be getting through quite a few of my beloved mini Babybels. I hope you've found the larger nets 10 as opposed to 5, I think.)

Neither, just the fact that I've always had either rice or naan bread with a curry. I haven't even touched veggies yet, even though i've got 8 cans of peas and baby carrots in my cupboard. I am, my local morrisons offer 6 for a pound. Also my appetite is slowly reducing as I feel completely full after having 4 scrambled eggs with cheese and my morning blood sugar is 7.8, but now I feel groggy and my head feels like it has been hit by a train.
 
If i go out with friends for a curry I usually have a meat dish with onion bahjis, and maybe a cauliflower, mushroom or bhindi bahji. I find i can manage a couple of popdums but NOT with the mango chutney.

you have to be proud of yourself ..there is no way a month ago you would have turned your back on a full indian takeaway ..this is a big step :)

sorry....for next time, garam is indian for chickpea, you could have had one or two depending on size.
that's a shame about the veg, here they normally they have some, this may help a bit for next time too

a teaspoon of salt a day, lots of water, you will feel better in a few days. more energy than you have had for years..promise :)
as you found out..the starving hungry only lasts for 2 days
 
If you're having Indian takeaway rather than in the restaurant you could always do what I do and cook some veg while waiting for the takeaway - I sometimes steam some brocolli in the microwave (if you have a microwave in halls a microwave steamer is a brilliant help) or (my favourite) sauté a pan of Savoy cabbage in butter. Then I order whatever meat dish I fancy (usually chicken saag as I find that has less sauce so less chance for hidden carbs), and an aubergine curry, and mutter paneer (paneer cheese with peas). + have them with my veg.

Or, you know how Indian takeaways often give a little random bag of salad? You could ask for extra salad and have that with the curry.

Your grogginess is probably lasting a bit longer than most because of how high you,have been running and a few false starts with the reduced carbing, but those days seem to be getting behind you now. Well done!

How did your driving lesson go yesterday?

A7.8, after food must have seemed miles away a couple of weeks ago?

Personally, I'd be loving the 4.3, but I'm not on any meds, and my body is used to living at those levels. How are you feeling? Are thing getting any (generally) easier?
 
Not really, I was doing emergency brakes most of the time.

I've just had a few carrot and cucumber sticks with hummus from the uni shop, along with a 50% dark chocolate bar. I don't feel great at all, my headache won't shift and I still have diarrhea. At least now I can watch Gordon Ramsay shout at chefs on Hells Kitchen.

I was full, they had crusty bread with the pie as well. They do have low carb snacks in like peanut butter, hummus, cheese, salami etc.
 
I honestly don't understand.
You are an intelligent bloke @akindrat18. You know what carbs do to you, so why indulge in so much?
Why have crusty bread as well as pie?
