Hi all. I have posted on a couple of topics but never done this bit, so I thought I would today. Diagnosed in June after a run of Thrush that would not quit. Am on a 3 month diet only test after which I will have the H thingy blood test and they will then decide about meds. Have shifted 20kgs with low carb diet and fairly intense workout every other day. I loved my carb full/low fat diet but now only miss things very occasionally. Amazing how quickly us humans can adjust!
My father had late onset diabetes, my half brother was hypoglaecemic and I have native American blood through my grandmother so I perhaps should have paid more attention to my diet earlier on. So that's me!
Now my little story: My friend was diagnosed as T2 about 6 months ago. On walking in to see the diabetic specialist GP, he said to her ( without looking up at her at all )"Okay, so the first thing you need to do is lose weight!" He then did take a look at his patient, who is a very tiny size 6!:b My friend, once she had recovered from her surprise, tore him off a strip good and proper!
