Hi everyone
Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Paul and I am 53...I have been type two diabetic for approx. 7 years.
I started off by diet control only but that didn't work so I was put on tablets to help control it.

Just had my review and it wasn't good news I had gone from 53 to 73 on my Hba1c

I have struggled more since I was diagnosed with throat cancer approx. 3 years ago but now that is all fixed.
I thought it might be a good idea to come here and share experiences and hopefully get myself on the road to better health again

Hi and welcome. Sorry to hear you have had a rough time but the good news is you have found the right place. I will tag @daisy1 for the excellent new members information. Have a read and a good look around the site and ask any questions you like

Hi and welcome. Can you tell us what your weight/BMI is as excess weight can be part of the problem but not always. Are you having a low-carb diet?

Welcome Paul. Stick around and hope we'll get to know you a bit!

Thanks for the welcome everyone

To answer Daibell... I am back to 102 kilos from 90 after lapsing on my low carb diet.
So at 5ft 11 I am overweight. I am an ex smoker and very rarely drink alcohol

I took delivery of a cross trainer yesterday couldn't wait to try it out. I managed 7kms = 4 miles without exerting myself, which for someone who never exercise's I thought was decent.
This morning I managed 3.5kms mainly due to aching legs lol

Would be interested in what exercise others do and what does and doesn't work :)

I'm sure the cross trainer will help. I do a lot of walking but I really need to try and up the exercise a bit. Have you started back on LCHF or are you looking at other alternatives for your diet
