I have started the Newcastle 600 diet today in an attempt to get my blood sugars under control etc.
I am no expert by any means so any tips would be brilliant e.g. What are good no calorie drinks to have etc.

So I am 15st 2lbs and my BMI is 28.75
My blood this morning was 15.09
I am on mess only but Dr wants to put me on insulin.

Wish me luck, all and any advice is welcome

What are you going to eat?

I drink black coffee, sparkling water or regular water with a lemon or lime wedge.

I am using meal replacement shakes from Astral nutrition, they have average of 100 calories per shake but include all nutrients, vitamins and protein for each day, plus a couple of ingredients to boost metabolism and help suppress appetite. These shakes came highly recommended as being the most suitable.
I am eating salads, peppers, mushrooms, greens, kale, making soups, brocolli, cauliflower rice and using herbs to add flavour. So roasted veggies Aldo roasted peppers stuffed with cauliflower rice. Going to use Rosemary on the roasted stuff.
Only managed to eat 563 calories in total today, including the fat free vinaigrette dressing.
Not sure if that's a good thing.
Had a massive bowl of salad leaves with wild rocket, shredded carrots, ten Pomodorino tomatoes, 100g of celery, mushrooms and orange peppers, 100ml of dressing, plus the 3 shakes brought today's total to 563 calories

Just curious how much protein there is per shake ???

Are you hungry?

Good luck! I think I could do 600 calories as long as I could include an avocado. They fill me up and give me energy.

Kristin251- sorry, yes, I have found myself hungry but that's normal for first 2-4 days.
I think it can also be that I was used to snacking so I have to get out of the habit of continually eating even when I wasn't really hungry.
I have appetite suppressants that were recommended with the shakes.

Is that with herbalife?

Kristin251 - Details of the Strawberry flavoured shake:
1 x 450ml (water) with 30g serving

1.2g fibre, 22g protein, zero salt.
Protein is soybean based

It's called "Shockwave Fat burn shake"
Also taking "overpwr" Appetite suppressant if/whenever feel hungry
(Currently taken one per day).

Outstanding!!!

You really had me going until the soy protein lol. I don't do soy anything. Hormones crazy enough!!
Actually I don't need to lose weight and have good control but sounds like a great shake ingredient wise.

How are you feeling other than busting with happiness on weight and bs!!!:)

I cannot have soya for my thyroid. What a shame as sounded very promising for me, even.

Also blood pressure is now normal.
I have to take two "Dapagliflozin+Metformin 5mg/1000mg per day
Plus 100mg Sitagliptin per day.
I have dropped one of the Dapagliflozin this morning so will see how things go now.

Trying to get out of habit of wanting to snack, but guess this will come with Time and thy say it gets easier after about 4 days?

I completeLy understand. I like to pop a macadamia nut or pinch of pumpkin seeds throuout the day. Not for hunger reason rather just a habit and I like them
