newcastle diet

well we were not flooded out here at Sutton sea, thank god. good job too, I don't think I would have been able to float, all wrinkly now, been on low carb meal all week with shakes and bars, lost another 2lb.bg 6.3 fasting.

hi all
happy new year to everyone
heres my results from my blood test
6 months ago 82 mmol,
42 mmol 31/1/12
i ave been a bit naughty over the christmas period and put on over half stone, ave to get back on track
for me the newcastle diet did work, and not any medication now whoopie!!, it is hard maintaing it, but i guess it really has got to be a life long change in eating habbits.

I have read a lot about this, and I have to be honest I am a little sceptical. I have just been diagnosed with diabetes, although not sure which yet. I would love to think that there is a cure as it were, but being only 10st 11 at the min, I guess something like the newcastle diet is out for me.

I have been on the gliclazide tabs for about 2 weeks now and my blood sugars have dropped. Although I am finding it really hard to plan my meals. Thats going to take some getting used too.

I must be honest I fell off the waggon last week what with Christmas , mother passing, dog passing , friend passing, all got to me ,Keven`s threads really helped and the thought, that mum would want me to look my best at her funeral, has bought me back in line.
So back on strict diet for last 2 days and more walking.
IF I were you I would still do the Newcastle plus a low carb meal, because you would not need the medication and you would be having vitamins and minerals that you need, after 11 days introduce some extra meals and test your bg levels before and 2 hours after eating, to see what is causing them to rise, whatever it is cut down and hopefully, there will be no sugar crystals lurking in your system causing damage to your tissues and organs that you cannot see until the damage has been done. of course we all different and it may not be right for you but I still have best wishes and hopes for you.

The problem I have is I dont have weight to loose being only 11 stone. I would seek medical advice as well as t could cause complications. I could not stick too that sort of diet on perm basis
