Forgive my ignorance, but what are CGM's? ThanksOne thing I found useful were the free trials of both Libre and Dexcom CGMs. I think @Rachox has the links for these should you be interested. Good luck.
Continuous Glucose Monitors.Forgive my ignorance, but what are CGM's? Thanks
Thanks, very interested in that!Continuous Glucose Monitors.
Thanks for that, it's hard going but just looking for advice and hope. Really appreciatedIt's NOT your fault that you are ill, so stop blaming yourself. Illness is - plenty of people eat the way you did and don't become diabetic. But now your body has told you, it's time to act on it. Find new favourite foods, and eat those. You've done brilliantly on the weight loss. Stay with us, read around the forum and come back with any questions. No question is trivial - if you want to ask, we want to help. Well done so far.
yeah some things from there are fairly expensive. When i make spag bol for daugher and myself, i make the bolognese for both of us, then just use 2 different pots for the pasta part, makes it a lot more affordable.Had a look at H&B and it's just the price that stops me from going there. Family of 5 it quickly becomes unsustainable for us
That sounds reasonable and doable for us, do you have to order online from h&b or are these ingredients readily available in store?yeah some things from there are fairly expensive. lasagna i love, when make it, i use thin aubergine layers with cheese sauce. I buy a couple of large roasting tins when make, just use regular pasta sheets for hers. doesnt add a lot of time, although is a sorta faff at times (if in a rush). Found it easier to batch cook certain things and freeze. Cheese sauce part and bolognese is exact same for both of us. only takes a few extra mins prep.
i live pretty remotely dont have one in my area. when i pop across to mainland haven't had an issue with the 3 different stores that have tried for their zero carb rice/pasta. I have had problem in the smaller shops for some of their keto multispack snacks.. usually single only available and more or less price of 2 would be multipack of 4 cost. only the larger city centre store appears to have some certain products. That sounds reasonable and doable for us, do you have to order online from h&b or are these ingredients readily available in store?
With the lasagna, do you know of any alternatives to aubergine? Can't stand it!
Thanks!
You could try thin strips of courgette, use a potato peeler to make the slices or a sharp knife. That sounds reasonable and doable for us, do you have to order online from h&b or are these ingredients readily available in store?

As others have said, it's not your fault - it's probably genetic. The good news is that losing visceral fat (around the organs) should help to get you to remission. Here's some info from Prof Roy Taylor:Thanks for that, it's hard going but just looking for advice and hope. Really appreciated
